Job Description

Job Title: Supply Chain Specialist
Hourly Pay Rate: $25-45/hr DOE

Position Overview:
As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will lead the optimization of our supply chain processes, ensuring efficient procurement and logistics management. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring timely project deliveries and contributing to the success of our innovative engineering projects.

Contract Duration: Approximately six months, with potential for long-term full-time engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to devise supply chain strategies aligned with project timelines and goals.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions in contracts and agreements with suppliers.
  • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and amendments to supply agreements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid shortages or excess stock.
  • Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials to project sites, handling customs, duties, and tariffs.
  • Establish a system to track and report key performance metrics like on-time delivery and supplier performance.
  • Implement supply chain management tools such as ERP/PLM systems.
  • Identify and address supply chain risks and opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement and logistics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
  • Strong grasp of supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools, including ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience (Not Required):

  • Experience with hardware or manufacturing start-ups.
  • Full life cycle procurement experience, from feasibility to supply chain audit.
  • Familiarity with international business practices.
  • Experience in related industries such as Cryogenics, Superconductivity, or Power Transmission/Distribution.
